It is New Years Eve
If you are supporting a partner suffering with depression you could well be wondering how on earth you are going to make it through this New Year of 2010.
The Trail Blazing Woman would like to share with you one of her secrets that has assisted her to effectively manage a relationship that is affected by depression.
Gratitude Journal
Have you heard of a “gratitude journal”? This is where you write down each day things you have, can do or are going to do that you can be thankful for and appreciate.
By creating a gratitude journal for yourself you will actually change your energy levels because positive attracts positive. Having gratitude for what you already have actually increases your gratitude.
I fully appreciate that the reverse could be happening for you at this point in time if you are supporting a partner affected by depression. You could be experiencing negative attracting negative.
I totally understand this and the weariness and frustration you could be experiencing as you look to the beginning of a new year.
Let’s turn this around for you and get a stream of positive energy flowing through you and toward you! Wouldn’t that feel fabulous?
You can break this cycle and start the new year with a new energy level simply by starting to write down the things you already have that you can be grateful for.
As you do this your attitude lifts as does the environment within your home. Your positive, grateful attitude becomes a magnet for others.
If you are feeling a little lonely and sad on this new year’s eve due to your partner’s depression I would like us to do something together that will lift your spirit and start to turn your situation around.
Find some paper and a pen and write down five things you can be grateful for. I will be doing this myself so we will be feeling grateful together. Once you have done this you will notice immediately a positive change within yourself.
If you are struggling to find five things you can be grateful for please email me at christine@trailblazingwoman.com.au.
It would be my pleasure to spend a few minutes with you to assist you find things in and around your life that you can be grateful for.
I wish you a new year filled with the promise of solutions, new beginnings, hope and renewed energy.
